The TAGB (Taekwondo Association of Great Britain)

The TAGB is a founder member of the BTC. Starting in 1983, the TAGB has become one of the largest and most respected martial arts organizations in Europe.

My TKD journey started when I was in my 40s, after trying Judo as a child and later kickboxing and boxing as a young adult without much enthusiasm. In the back of my mind I always thought I needed something for myself, but could not say what it was. That was until 15 minutes into my first TKD lesson, and I was hooked, I had found it!!The manner and structure of the classes and the progression method really works and before long my belts were mounting up, along with the belts I am proud to say I won medals and trophies at every belt along the way to my black belt and also into my 1st and 2nd Dans.Reaching the Black Belt status is an amazing achievement and every day I walk a little taller knowing I did it! It’s not achieved without those in front, to the side and behind you in class, but on the day it’s you and you alone.My greatest joy currently from TKD is split between competitions and helping my instructor Colin in class. We all know that feeling standing on the back row not knowing if you are doing it right and thinking you will never get it, but with the right encouragement and guidance we all do. I have always said the most important part of the Dojang is the door, as long as you keep stepping through it you will get it and you will improve.
